Hello to the 3 people who actually read this blog.
I took last week off as I was on vacation and decided to hack up a freezer in my basement. This was one of those freezers the size of a small village from 1800 that the house was literally built around. With the help of my Dad and buddy Turtle we made short work of that beast. I think Turtle enjoyed using the Sawzall to make short work of the freezer, he is pretty crafty with that tool.
This weekend we pause to remember our Nations Independence. For most people this means we eat hot dogs, drink beer, and maybe watch a parade. I ask you to search your soul....Why do we celebrate the 4th of July? What does America mean to you? Are we the people we say we are? The Statue of Liberty reads:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these — the homeless, tempest-tossed — to me;
I lift my lamp beside the Golden Door.
Today as I read this I can't believe the French wrote this. This sounds directly from Jesus himself.
That is the America we once had — the beacon of liberty, providing light and hope and inspiration to the entire world — the America we have forsaken for a mess of tasteless pottage.
Granted we did a lot of wrongs along the way. Most of you by now know exactly how I feel about the Native American. We need the Native alive and well in their homeland and free from the oppression we have set upon them. Furthermore, are we content with a Nation full of abortion, pornography, selfishness, greed, and imperialism. I say rise up America become the Nation we were appointed by Creator to be.
